Hello?
These little windows
I fall in
Little words
So permanent
Little victories
Little murders
It seems.
Threshold, great
Slabs of amber
Neither warm
Nor cool
But with its
own glow
light beyond the threshold
shining through
not to search
nor to speak
I must not know
myself, such is
my own flaw.
today, we shunned
odysseys
we stopped our words
with skin
and I slipped
into whatever window
this is
but now a secret
like my hair
like sleepless nights
who is on the other
end of the line?
goodbye.

I really like this one. Probably Odyssey rather than Odyssey’s which implies that the sentence is not finished because we are waiting to hear what belongs to the Odyssey. Odyssey’s ..what?
But I love the wordplay – this pane. Love the extended metaphor that is the slender thread that links the soul, words, communication and meaning. Love the hello and the goodbye which frame the poem…!!!

This could be the second poem – the hello/goodbye. It could be a kind of greeting for the reader?
